That was our little component in Saturday’s system at Marvin Caldwell Park.

Businesses, faith communities, people today and organizations in Cabarrus County have teamed up with Samaritan’s Feet to spouse on a shoe distribution event for college students throughout the location just before the starting of school.

Saturday from 10 a.m. to midday, they will be offering out 500 pairs of sneakers at Marvin Caldwell Park — 362 Georgia St. SW, Concord — to needy children and youth across the community, making certain that households and young children have entry to community means.

They will be giving out backpacks and school supplies to help students be prepped and prepared for college, which formally starts in August in Cabarrus County.

For more facts on the event or to volunteer, call Teresa Gray at 704-239-3811 or by e mail at [email protected], or Wilma King-Signifies at 704-777-1920.

The need is even greater. The Concord-Afton Sunset Rotary Club is all over again sponsoring the WSOC-Television set 9SchoolTools venture in Cabarrus County, to gain Cabarrus County Faculties and Kannapolis City Educational facilities. What is donated in Cabarrus County stays in our county.

On Saturday, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., there will be a push-and-drop donation on Village Push in Concord at the Afton Village gazebo. College provides will be gathered as very well as financial donations to the Rotary Club to be made use of to obtain faculty supplies.
